FAQ
Online Resources Glass Artists Gallery,
Her innovative and creative mind continues to experiment and ask herself “What if?” With this spirit and some bold clients, she has pushed her own personal creative limits and has accepted challenges to create new and exciting work. Joan has been working with Functional Art Gallery since our inception. We have the creative knowledge that combines well with Joan’s “what if” approach. The results allow our client’s to obtain functional art that is original and full of creativity.
This “out of the box” thinking includes creating a 28’ glass tree, “Old Growth” for a residence in Washington State, which is suspended by steel cable and is surrounded by a spiral staircase. This technique is perfect for room dividers, privacy screens and suspended kilnworked pieces in residences and public spaces. It’s like a hanging mural out of glass that is functional, dimensional and timeless.
Joan and Functional Art Gallery’s sales representative Kevin Fristad, recently worked together to create a group of very large glass pendants for the Fundex corporate headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. Joan took the challenge and approached it, again with her “signature” question, “What if?”. The designing and fabricating of these unique pieces is the sort of project that pushes the limits of kilnworked glass, as well as her own creative power. The designer and client loved the result. We think they are pretty special too, fitting perfectly with both a corporate appeal and whimsy to match the “Fundex Games, Ltd” company mission. To see more of Joan’s work click click here. We will be happy to assist you in finding the perfect work of art for your project. |
